Assignment4: screen resolution

because i am going to produce a website that will be viewed on multiple screens i need to make sure my website will fit on all screen resolutions without a horizontal scroll bar.

w3 school says that only 1% of the market used a screen resolution lower than 1024x768 in 2009

w3 counter says that in the month of january 2010 3.51% used a resolution lower than 1024x768 (source: http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php)

with such a small % of the market using lower than 1024x768 i think it will be safe for me to base my website around 900 horizontal pixels. with the morority of the content 50pixels away from the sides.
