having gotten my layout complete to a good standard i thought i would ask for some feedback just to see if i had missed anything important. this was a bad order to do things as it meant work that i had spent time on would just be replaced.
the feedback i got was that,
  • the blue spot colour i was using was not being used enough
  • the navigation at the bottom of the page was not intuitive
  • my choice of font was not working
  • my buttons could be more interesting
because i had been using sprites i could make changes to my buttons very easily so looks on dafont for a hand written style font to go with the style. i wanted the font to be very similar to the previous veranda i was using as i liked the weighty feel. i fount the font Sketch Block which is perfect, not only dose it fit my criteria but it is a slab serif font which is currently very popular in webdesign and makes my website look more professional.
in fact a quick note about just how shocked i am with the effect this font change has had. it has really pulled my website together and has proven to me again just how inportant having all the elements, of a piece of work, suit and enhance each other is.
for my left and right navigation to tie it in i wanted to use "< >" signs from sketch block but it dose not have them so i used a similar font FFF_tusj. the size of the buttons meant that you can not tell the difference.

this has however left me feeling like my content box is lacking in style currently so it will be something i will need to push once my content is in place.
